When your bank or credit card statements are in Excel, you have the power to search any column for repeating locations, payees, etc. Here are some examples of how we use pattern matching:
- Identify transactions with round numbers and note how many zeros they have.
- Find all purchases made to a vendor, e.g. Macy’s.
- Look for ATM locations that match cities or towns of interest.
